Show Me The Green!

Spring! Spring! Spring! That sounds like the ring of a clock. Time to get the garden ready to grow. I am an apprentice gardener since my friend, David shared with me his passion for gardening. Recently, the idea of bartering came to mind as David needed T-Shirts for summer and I wanted to start to plant my own vegetables.  I’ve just visited him at his urban homestead to make the deal.

Minnesota Vintage At Music Action.

Music Action is the only independent record dealer in the city of Perpignan. The store is one of the coolest place in town to chill and it is run by Justine, a free spirit. The desire of offering second hand clothes threw her store was there for awhile and there is now a Minnesota Vintage outlet. If you are in town do not hesitate to stop by and spin a vinyl!

Matthieu Palud Art Show.

Do it yourself!

Do It Yourself! Recently, my friend, Matthieu Palud transformed an unoccupied flat belonging to his grand mother into a temporary art gallery. He painted the main room in white and lighted it with neons featuring his last works, mostly posters and windows displays. Also, the rest of the appartment was open to the public,  there were some older works and the furnitures...

Snowboard Season Opening And Jacket Testing.

I went with my friends, David and Jeremy for the ski season opening. Despite the poor snowfalls, the conditions were not so bad. I brought with me a jacket from the future collection to see if I could use it to snowboard and it worked perfectly well. Never mind if this year again the trend seems to be fluo from head to toe.

Donuts And Corn Fields.

Enough of the city! This weekend, Maria and I decided to leave the Twin Cities and see if we could find exciting second hand clothes in smaller places. We hit the road south to the rural part of Minnesota and stopped in Winona. After three thrift stores and one estate sale visited, the harvest was done. We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering in town. The evening we left Winona and drove to Loria and Lee's farm where we stayed for the night. Thanks guys!  You have to see it to believe it. The corn fields in this area stretched out in acres and acres. Here is the bread basket of the country.

Minnesota Vintage Photo Shoot Uptown Minneapolis.

Yesterday, I met photographer Mike Levos and model Michael Senich for the first Minnesota Vintage photo shoot. No need to tell you how excited I was. In spite of a grey sky and cold temperatures we shot outside. We improvised the different locations with the day and ended up on Lake Street. I alos would like to thank Sebastien Tavenas, executive director of French-American Chamber Of Commerce , Donoxti Baylon, Trades Services Coordinator FACC without them this could not have happened.

Jim's Barbershop.

A couple of weeks ago, I was riding down Nicolet Avenue when a tiny yellow house got my attention. It was a barbershop. Curious to meet the person who runs a place like that and because my hair needed a refreshment, I decided to get an appointment.  Do you remember Alice In Wonderland, when Alice finds a small key to a door too small for her to fit through and through it she sees an attractive garden. I felt the same way when I opened the door. The room was packed of old cameras, VHS tapes, radios, photos. This is how I met Jim for the first time. As he cut my hair we had a really pleasant conversation, it happened that we shared the same passion for photos and Willie Nelson.
